Stargate: Atlantis fanfiction awards for rare slash and femme-slash pairings. There are three major Stargate fanfiction award sets currently given out. The SG Fan Awards are inclusive, but typically the Atlantis rare-pairings are overshadowed by the sheer volume of McKay/Sheppard stories and their readers. The McShep awards are, obviously, restricted to the McKay/Sheppard pairing. The Isis Awards are limited to rare het pairings and accept no slash at all. The DiversiFICation awards are to recognize achievement by slash and femme-slash authors whose work falls outside the scope of the latter two awards. Come over to sgdiverse_award to see what we're about, then announce these awards to any group we haven't posted to that would have interested participants - whether on or off LiveJournal.We're tweaking the final timeline, but right now nominations are set to open on March 15th. So round up your favorite fics and come participate in The DiversiFICation Awards. |

I was hoping this community might be able to help me - I don't write SGA because I haven't seen enough episodes (to my sorrow) to feel comfortable, but I do read, and: A while ago, I read a story where I'm pretty sure the pairing was Ronon/Rodney; there was a piano-like instrument involved, and in the process of tuning it, it was revealed that Ronon had studied music on Sateda. We also got information about a previous lover of his, and there is a close-to-final scene where, at a party for Zelenka, Ronon and Rodney are playing together - I want to say Janacek clarinet concerto, but I might be wrong about that. [ETA: Martinu, not Janacek.] Needless to say, subsequent attempts to find the story again have been unsuccessful, probably because I neglected to remember any useful identifying details. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be much appreciated - Thank you! [ETA: Gosh, you guys are fast. Will remember that there's actually a story-finding community next time; for those who are curious, it was mirabile_dictu's Pianoforte.] |

I also don’t own Dawson’s Creek or the Mardi Gras reference, which was blatantly stolen from another fic. I don’t own MIT, Clerks, or The Matrix, either. I’m just writing for entertainment, no profit and no infringement intended.
A/N and further disclaimers: I’ve used a lot of dialogue from Progeny, and I also changed up the John/Rodney bits a little through their actions in the episode, but only a little. To whoever first wrote about John’s “experience” at Mardi Gras (via Dawson’s Creek, of all things), I have forgotten who you are, but I absolutely love you, and I’ve blatantly stolen the Mardi Gras reference for this fic, so if you tell me who you are I’ll give you proper credit in the disclaimer. Also, “Já jsem ani trochu domnělý být tu dnes!” is really, really bad Czech for “I’m not even supposed to be here today!” from the movie Clerks. If someone is more fluent in Czech than I (since all I did was use an online Czech dictionary for translation) then please let me know, and I’ll correct it and give you credit. Also, I’m pretty sure the hacks on the Great Dome at MIT started after John would have been there, but this is my reality, I can do what I want with it. ;)
